The didactic coordination of the Program is exercised by a Collegiate.
The PPGEQ Collegiate is composed of 5 (five) professors representatives (and their respective substitutes) elected by the group of permanent professors of the course and 1 (one) student representative (and their respective substitute) indicated by the Academic Directory, under the terms of the UFMG General Regiment.
The professors elected to the Collegiate will have a term of 2 (two) years, renewal is permitted, and the appointed student representative will have a term of 1 (one) year with a renewal permitted.
The Collegiate Presidency is exercised by the Program Coordinator.
Among the competences of the Collegiate, we can highlight:
– Coordinate and guide the academic and administrative activities of the Course;
– Decide issues related to enrollment, reoption, transfer, students achievments, partial or total enrollment termination, representations and appeals filed;
– Define and submit the academic criteria for accreditation and re-accreditation of the Program’s professors for approval by the Graduate Chamber;
– Approve Examination Commissions for judging dissertation or equivalent work;
– Establish criteria for Examination of Selection of candidates for the Course and submit them to the approval of the Dean of Graduate Studies (PRPG), in the form of Public Notice or as required by specific selection processes;
– Approve the offer of disciplines and other academic activities of the Course;
– Ensure that students of the Course have effective academic guidance.
