The infrastructure of the Graduate Program in Chemical Engineering (PPGEQ) consists of: Laboratories, Computer Resources and Library. Each item is detailed below, as well as some additional information.
Infrastructure
-
Laboratories
Professors of the Graduate Program in Chemical Engineering are assigned to different laboratories units of the UFMG and also the UNIFAL university. Therefore, there are different laboratories in which the students can develop their work, not limited to the facilities of the Chemical Engineering Department (DEQ). Professors from other departments of the School of Engineering, in addition to professors from the Institute of Exact Sciences (Departments of Physics and Chemistry), from CTNano (Center for Technology in Nanomaterials at UFMG), as well as from the Institute of Chemistry at the UNIFAL university also work at PPGEQ. The partnerships with other professors and research centers have further expanded the use of modern and efficient equipment by the researchers.
-
Computer Resources
Graduate students have computer infrastructure at the Electronic Calculation Center of the UFMG School of Engineering. The UFMG School of Engineering also provides access to the wireless network to its entire community.
In addition, students have the support of research laboratories from different graduate programs that often provide computer resources when they are requested.
-
Library
Additionally to the program physical infrastructure, the UFMG community has access to a modern system composed of 25 libraries, technically linked to the University Library. The School of Engineering is part of this system and has a collection destined to the Graduate Program in Chemical Engineering. The UFMG library system has a general collection that brings together approximately 1,000,000 copies, in addition to around 22,000 titles of specialized journals, as well as wide access to the CAPES Journal Portal. In addition, the UFMG Library System constantly offers training to students for a more efficient use of the databases.

Additional information
The physical structure of the PPGEQ is located within the UFMG School of Engineering (EE).
Since 2010 the UFMG School of Engineering (EE) has been installed on the Pampulha Campus in the city of Belo Horizonte. Before that, the EE was located in the center of Belo Horizonte and on the Pampulha campus. Today, the EE has 65,000 square meters of built area and has 3 external units (the Farm Model in Pedro Leopoldo, the Hangar in Conselheiro Lafaiete and the Memorial Center in downtown Belo Horizonte). It has about 300 professors, about 150 technical-administrative staff and 13 departments. The EE offers to the community 11 Undergraduate Courses and 10 Graduate Programs. The EE carries out approximately 5000 admissions and graduates approximately 800 engineers, annually.
Due to the big infrastructure of the EE , it is possible to affirm that the PPGEQ infrastructure is constantly improving and expanding. New partnerships are continuously made, enabling the purchase of new equipments and the expansion of the laboratories.
